Capital of Crete


Heraklion (Iraklion, Irakleio, Ηράκλειο / ΗΡΑΚΛΕΙΟ) is the largest city and also the capital of Crete. There is one of two international airports on the island. Heraklion does not have too many historic buildings, and on his tour just to spend 3-4 hours. Noteworthy is pretty Venetian harbor, where the morning fishing boats returning influence from the sea. On a promontory stands surrounding Venetian Fortress Koules with the image of the lion of St. Mark. From here you can see antique Arsenals. From the roundabout located on the harbor promenade runs along which is located most interesting buildings in the city. Within a few minutes you can see the church of Agios Titos, loggia, square Venizelou, St. Stephen's Basilica. Mark, Fountain Morozini. A little further is Platia Kornarou with the old hammam and Bembo Fountain, where you should take a right to get to Agia Ekaterinis Freedom Square, where they stand three churches - Agios Minas church, the church of Agia Ekaterinis (now the Museum of Icons), and the dominant cathedral with beautiful, decorative towers. Its interior looks equally impressive - walls and ceilings are covered with frescoes, and on top of huge chandeliers hang. You can still go to Freedom Square, where stands the Statue of Liberty. Located next to the Archaeological Museum. Another interesting place is the Historical Museum, which features a fountain Idomeneo. You can also drive up to the grave of Nikos Kazantzakis, Greek poet and novelist, and also to see one of the city gates and fragments of walls.

Bali Greece


Bali - a small tourist town in Greece, located on the northern coast of the island of Crete, approx. 50 km west of Heraklion (Iraklion), and 30 km east to Rethymno. In the past, a small fishing village, now a significant tourist destination, offering tourists hotels of different standards, numerous guesthouses and private accommodation. In Bali operate shops, taverns and restaurants, mainly geared to handle tourist traffic. In the village there is also a small harbor. The resort allows its visitors to practice water sports and diving.

Bali is located on several small bays, high on the coast, which forces the compact settlement and the rational use fairly small beaches.
















Międzyzdroje


Miedzyzdroje - a city in north-western Poland, in the province. West Pomerania, in the district Kamien, the seat of the urban-rural Miedzyzdroje, located on the island of Wolin on the Baltic Sea.
Międzyzdroje holiday resort and tourist destination. The city is the head office of Wolin National Park. A popular summer event entertainment is organized annually European Festival of Stars.
