Cretaquarium

Cretaqurium is best marked tourist attraction on the island of Crete. Signposts pointing to this place can be seen almost everywhere on the island. Cretaquarium is located 10 km west of Hersonissos. Unfortunately, admission costs 8 € per person, which makes it the most expensive attraction in excess of the price of even a fee for entrance to the palace of Knossos! There is also the possibility to rent a "Personal audioguide", but this pleasure is an extra € 2. On the plus side, you can include that taking photographs is allowed and free. Here are some technical information about Cretaquarium: • 1,600m2 exhibition space, • a total area of ​​2,600m2 technical devices that support the exposure • 32 tanks with 50 points of observation, • tank volume of from 0.5 to 600m3, • 1,600,000 liters of seawater, • trained 300m2 surface • the largest window: ~ 4-5m in length and 3m in height, • the largest spherical window: 9m long and 2m high, • approx. 4,000 marine organisms.
