Fondo is a charming mountain village, situated at 1000 m above sea level and has a population of 1500 inhabitants. Here the street to pass Palade (South Tyrol) crosses the street to pass Mendola (South Tyrol) and the Passo del Tonale (Lombardy).
For several years, the canyon Rio Sass few available through the recently established routes. Swirling water, fossiles, stalagmites and stalactites, this is what you can explore in this field. Stunningly beautiful Lake Smeraldo is also a lake which was established in an artificial lake at the end of the valley, crossing the course of the Rio Fondo. Equally impressive is the Santa Maria lake and pond Tret, located next to the same named village.
